Doncaster's second remaining JDW is set down a pedestrian street. It's a fairly typical square room and wasn't as manic as the Red Lion.
The ten hand pumps had two unused, the IPA version of the JDW Trio Of Doom, Acorn Gorlovka Imperial Stout, Robinson's Trooper, Milestone Lock Keeper, Dukeries Lord Furnival and the Banks's Alpha 5 Pale Ale. I went for the Acorn Stout (£2.25) which was excellent. All in all I thought this was a decent town centre Spoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Gate House (JD Wetherspoon)
Standard issue modern 'spoons, all very anonymous both inside and without. Boisterous atmosphere when I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, with several large groups in. Fair selection of real ales from the ten handpumps, with a few festival beers (e.g. the Hyde's Bruges, £2.09).

Modern Styled wetherspoons with a quite bland interior. One of three wetherspoons within walking distance of each other in central Doncaster.

A purpose built 'Spoons which has not yet descended into the worn and grubby state often associated with this chain. The derelict count is also below average and the customer base includes younger drinkers, office workers and shoppers.Worth a visit for the commitment to local microbrewery ale ,often sub £2 per pint and good quality fully justifying it's GBG entry.Encouraging to see this pub popular on a quiet Tuesday early evening,Priory Walk also includes trendy bars Moods,Toast and Walkabout so looking forward to a trip down here on a Saturday evening in anticipation of sampling totty central in Donny.

Standard 'Spoons in terms of decor, fitting and offer but both the ale range and clientele seem to be a cut above the norm for a Wetherspoons. Ales on were Abbott, Ruddles Best, Milestone Black Pearl, Black Adder's Silver Adder, Thorne Mild and Daleside Blonde so a reasonable range of styles, many from local breweries. The Silver Adder was top quality and this is well worth a visit.
