Aqualung . left this review about The Wheatsheaf (JD Wetherspoon)

The Wheatsheaf is one of those large 20th Century barns that in the late 20th and 21st Century became totally unviable for the pubcos. As a result, unusually for a Spoons there is an extensive car park at the front.
Inside it consists of a long shallow room with the bar at the back. I completely missed the rear dining area mentioned below. I did notice a dart board that didn't look serviceable for a proper match.
The beer choice was disappointing as the two sets of hand pumps were all doubled. The five choices were the two GK beers, an International one from the previous festival, Purple Moose Dark Side Of The Moose and Weetwood Old Dog. I went for the Purple Moose which was in good nick. I thought this was a reasonable Spoons but let down by the beer choice.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wheatsheaf (JD Wetherspoon)

Substantial 1950s pub in a suburb of Ellesmere Port, now a Wetherspoons. 'L'-shaped bar with rear dining area. Front patio tables. Community feel, but bar staff seemed too focused on regulars rather serving people in order. Ten handpumps, with a fair selection and godd prices (e.g. Thwaites Lancaster Bomber at £2.05). Close to Overpool station. (NB - Review dates from September 2011.)
