UPDATE: As it was, but no real ale - in fact pretty basic now.
*******************************
FEB 2011: A detached 19th century pub in white render and green paintwork, with a rear beer garden/smoking area.

The inside has two small rooms, served by a central serving bar. The bar (to the left) is in white and chocolate, with white ceiling and floor tiles, along with a tiled fireplace. There are copper tables and tired looking bar stools... is like a working mens' club, with sports tv, football memorabilia of all clubs on the walls and a dart board. The lounge (to the right) is tidy and sometimes has music/karaoke, despite being small and is in red and white with a couple of tiled fireplaces. The service is fine and it really is a locals pub, with lots of banter going on - it is a friendly place where everyone seems to know everyone

The beer is the usual, with Banks's MILD - used to have Highgate too, but that has now gone sadly. There was a fair Pedigree and Courage Directors on handpull.

The Hatherton is a semi-regular on a Bloko visit - known as Painters due to it being run by the Painters for 30 odd years. It has stayed consistent, whereas a number of other Blocko pubs have fluctuated over the last few years

The Hatherton Arms is in a quiet area close to the hospital.
There were two rooms in this pub i went in the lounge which was smallish and fairly comfortable, there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Pedigree and this was a decent drink the other beer was Banks's mild.
I thought this was a decent pub and i was happy having a drink in here.
