Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Washington

Greene King pub that has a good selection of real ales and reportedly offers a discount for CAMRA members. Although, we weren't offered. I did enquire about real cider, but was told that for real cider I needed to visit a Wetherspoon's, at which I bit and state that there are many more decent pubs that sell a real cider or two. Service certainly wasn't the friendliest, unless you're one of the regulars. Tourists are treated as a bit of an inconvenience.

The single room is L-shaped, with a pool table at one end. There are a few little nooks and crannies in which to enjoy a meal or a quiet(ish) drink, but the overall feel is open-plan.

I came here once before one night in 2016. The pub had a completely different feel during the daytime. A few were in, but it was much quieter than the last time I was here. TVs were showing some kind of sport that nobody was interested in.

Morland Old Speckled Hen is the regular beer here. I remember having it the last time. Guests on this occasion were Timothy Taylor Landlord, Bank Top Pavilion Pale Ale, Fuzzy Duck Jarrylo, Big Bog Padi & Pennine Scapegoat.

Aqualung . left this review about The Washington

As noted below this is a Greene King pub but one that does guest ales so you're not cornered into trying to force down an IPA or Old Speckled Hen. It's a large open plan L shaped room which had just one other punter on my January Wednesday night visit and the TV screens were blasting out some rubbish music from a radio station.
The bar has eight hand pumps which had three of the dullest GK beers, Robinson's Trooper, Mauldon's Bronze Adder, Lytham Bailey's Blinder & Bad Bit and Old School Headmaster. I had time to try the Bailey's Blinder and Headmaster before they closed and they were in good enough nick. I didn't think too much of this place but it does have a range of beers and this is Blackpool so there's probably loads of worse pubs.

A fairly decent pub. A single room from what I made out and it had several handpumps on the bar of which 4 dispensed real ales. Its pot luck in Blackpool as to whether you pop into a decent pub, an average pub or a fat belly, rough as f**k, karaoke nightmare. I thought it was ok.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Washington

Busy Greene King pub seemingly aimed at families looking for reasonably-priced food but wishing to avoid some of the cheaper but rougher establishments nearer the seafront. It also looks rather smarter indoors than you would guess from outside. Three regular handpumps (including a decent pint of St Edmunds at £2.50) plus one of those fancy IPA dispensers. Overall, nothing special but reasonably civilised.
