Alan Winfield left this review about Crown Inn

The Crown Inn is a decent looking stone built pub that is in the middle of Hebden Bridge.
Once inside there is a large square shaped room with the bar facing, the floor is part carpeted and bare boarded, there are tall tables and chairs near the bar and bench seating and and chairs elsewhere.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Taylor Landlord which was a decent drink, the other beers were Adnams Ghost Ship,Jennings Cumberland and Courage Directors.
There is darts board to the left and the TV to the left was showing motor bike racing.
I was happy enough having a drink in here and also to get out of the heavy rain.

Old Boots left this review about Crown Inn

Reopened after the winter floods, the water reached over the counter apparantly, perhaps surprisingly open as it's slightly sub-terrainian. Four hand pumps dispense national cask brands from Adnams and Greene King plus locals Moorhouses and a Wiltshire visitor from Wadworths although not 6X. It tries to be ethnic and interesting in its decor, lots of African art, mainly paintings and carved animals. One corner has bamboo furniture and ferns, the entrance stairs are lined with velvet rope. The floor is part carpet, part laminate with flags by the counter, not very flood resistant. The place is coming back from the floods, some of the old furniture is stacked in the Gents, so it would be churlish to be too harsh. The staff were a bit inept and the beer fairly poor but at least it's open.

Now back to being called The Crown after a period of time as Bar Place. You enter down a few steps into one large opened up room which is full of dining tables and chairs. Many of the tables still had empty plates or glasses on them whilst the barmaid sat behind the bar studiously ignoring them. There were a couple of handpumps on the bar serving changing local ales. My pint was OK, but not really in top form. We sat down at one of the clear tables and during the 30 minutes or so we were there no one else came in. Not good for a Thursday evening.
