Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Crown & Kettle

Striking-looking exterior, particularly the unusual and rather gothic 'double-decker' windows. Inside, it is the rather remarkable (if decrepit) moulded ceiling that is the main talking point. Only the front bar was open when I visited, but you could see through the arch above the bar that there was more to be found beyond. Four beers available on handpump - the 'house' Autumn Ale (brewed by Greenfield, £2.65), another from Greenfield and two more unusual offerings from micro-breweries. Overall, worth seeking out (but I hope that it is usually livelier than I found it on my first visit).

Definately seen better days this one, not sure quite whats going on interally, but its actually quite ornate, strange catedral like interior, combined with a half hearted patch it up, just place that there attitude. There is a safety net to proect from falling masonary. The high ceilings make for a rather cold atmosphere. But the beer and service is excellent.

An old courthouse I believe and quite decorative inside, although it seems they've given up on doing anything with the ceiling and just have a net to stop any falling masonry. There’s a fairly plain front bar with a side bar and a small snug. Good selection of real ales that turn over frequently and a pub that should be on any crawl of the area.

Decent pub that used to be a court house many many years ago, hence the ornate ceilings etc. Originally the whole of the ceiling was intended to be restored but they ran out of time and maybe money to complete it. Has a good selection of real ales on tap, always well kept. Relative newcomer to the N4 pub circuit, it's often very quiet though, even at what you would have thought would be peak times. Due to this it never has much of an atmoshere. We often call in for one but then move on to somewhere a bit more lively.

Grade 2 listed pub on the corner of Oldham Street. Partly restored after being closed for over fifteen years. Four real ales on sale plus one brewed for the pub with the same name. Food is served all day.
