Visited today at 1pm. This has fewer hand pulls than many Wetherspoon pubs with just eight in total (two banks of four), but on the upside only two thirds of the usual Spoons trio made an appearance, with Doom Bar dropped leaving just Ruddles and Abbot Ale to be disregarded. The remaining six pumps were all clipped so presumably in use and offered ales from the likes of Ilkley, Moorhouse's, Phoenix and Exmoor. Guest ales priced at £2.15 a pint or £1.08 for a half.

I found this to be a pretty noisy Spoons, quite busy at lunch time, and as it was a nice day the doors were open which meant there was a constant waft of smoke coming in. This is a pub of two entrances, the rear leading to a small courtyard for outdoor seating, the front offering two small tables in a roped off section of the pavement.

This is a smaller old school shop conversion. There are lots of tall tables and chairs and a smaller quieter area for food at the rear with a small patio.
The bar has just eight hand pumps which had one available soon, the two GK beers, Thwaites / Marston Wainwright, an International beer from Caledonian, Phoenix Spotland Gold & White Monk and Moorhouse Blond Witch. I went for the White Monk (£2.15) which was in good nick.
I thought this Spoons was OK.

Generic Wethers. Open plan, 8 handpumps, 4 of any interest, kids running everywhere, food either on floor of all over tables.

Has had a partial refurbishment since last time I visited which has made the inside much better. Usual JDW decor, a raised area to the left as you enter and a few booths towards the rear. Sadly the beer selection was a bit limited with the usual suspects plus 2 Moorhouse's beers, two coming soons and Tring Fanny Ebbs. I had a pint of the Tring which was well kept. It's a good pub for Heywood, but nothing special anywhere else.

For a Wetherspoons outlet looked a bit shabby from the outside, however there was an improvement on the inside. After a bit of a wait tried a pint of the Phoenix Brewery's Wobbly Bob (6.0abv)which was acceptable.
