Rob Hunter left this review about The Woolly Sheep Inn

The Woolly Sheep is a Tim Taylors pub offering an extensive range of their ales across the seven hand pulls.

There is a small room to the front which is more pub-like, with a real fire going at the time of my visit. Leading off this is a corridor with access to the bar and some seating opposite. Behind this is a dining room and there is also a further room diagonally to the right which is offered for dining and functions. A beer garden is advertised (not investigated). The pub offers accommodation. Wi-Fi is available but it is the type where you have to register.

My half of Golden Best set me back £2.25 or so and was nice enough. The pub was pretty busy on my Wednesday afternoon visit. There is definitely a food emphasis with "wait here to be seated" signs once you get beyond the bar area. It was nice enough to visit once but can't see me rushing back for just a drink because it does feel very foody.

A Timothy Taylor tied house in a narrow ,old building which runs through several sections to the rear and shows lots of evidence of the buildings age.The front section is dog friendly, popular with locals and has a small servery with a few handpumps but you must move to the next section to see the full ale range in the tap room.Beyond that up a step is the wait to be seated dining area leading in turn to a raised beer garden looking smart.
On my trip there was TT Boltmaker,Golden Best,Dark Mild,Landlord,Knowle Spring,Landlord Dark (NBSS 4) and Artesian ,a collaberation with Thornbridge featuring elderflower and gooseberries in a pale ale.
e pub filled up as the afternoon wore on ,which quickly produced an atmosphere in what is a modest interior.I really enjoyed my trip and cant understand how it doesn't feature in the 2024 GBG.This close to the brewery ,it acts as a very good brewery tap for the fine TT ale range. One not to miss in Skipton.

A decent pub and its very friendly with Timothy Taylor beers. As you enter you have a small bar area and a staircase (which you can't climb. At least not on this Saturday afternoon). To the rear the pub stretches out. Tim Taylor beer range available.

Located in the centre of Skipton the woolly sheep is one of their fancy gastro style fine dining pubs. With this said it still feels like a pub and not a restaurant which is good and although extensively refurbished it keeps a classic pub feel but one of a fancy, clean modern take on a classic interior. The bar is to the left as you walk in and is on the small side with only a few tables and chairs with some standing room. There is a lovely real fire which makes this room especially cosy. The main bar is to the right which extends on to the main dining room. Food is a big deal here is there more people dining than just drinking. We sat and had a bit to eat which was very nice but on the pricy side (or the normal side for Skipton). Beers available was the full range from Taylors and a guest I can’t remember as well as their Fezziwig porter from their new microbrewery. The Fezzwig was a horrendous £3.85 but man was it good, perfectly kept and went down a dream really a fantastic drop like most of their beers. I would have liked to stayed longer and enjoyed a few more of the range, especially in the bar area as it looked like a real treat and the sort of place you could shimmy up for a long times, especially near the fire a freezing day like it was. I will defiantly be returning when next in Skipton but will be taking a food few quid with me as this place is not cheap. This is why Taylors have always frustrated me, they make some of the best beer around but god don’t they know it as well with prices to match. Aside from half the pub being all foody the part that is still a pub is a real treat.

Lovely pub. TT Ram Tam, Landlord, Boltmaker, Golden Best, Dark Mild and two (untasted) from Moorhouses on tap. The Boltmaker, Golden Best and Dark Mild were superb. TT in Yorkshire is always quality. Service was excellent and it was very busy on a Saturday in August. We ate and the food was excellent. A very, very good pub.

Long narrow pub at the bottom of the High St. The Public Bar at the front is reached via a side alley and there's a bigger room behind used mostly for dining. Does a good range of Taylor's and had Ilkley Mary Jane as guest; all in very good nick. My experience shows this to be the best of the four GBG pubs in Skipton, although a bit busy with diners on Saturday lunchtime.

Large 18th century Timothy Taylor tied house in the centre of town. Consisting of a comfortable front lounge with open fire. Stone flagged bar and restaurant area to the rear and a sheltered decked beer garden. Full range of Timothy Taylor beers and on my visit one guest from Kirkstall Brewery a Pale Ale which was excellent. Will defo call again.

This pub looks small from the outside but once inside this pub goes back a long way,the bar is on the left and as you walk through this pub there are a few steps at different points.
This is a Timothy Taylor tied house and it had a good selection of their beers on the bar i had a drink of Golden best which was very nice.
My only niggle is that the seating could be a bit more comfortable but this is probably where i sat.

We came across this wonderful little inn
and fell in love with it. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by the staff, the rooms were very modern and chic, the bedding was better than any 5* we have ever stayed at. The food in the evening was clearly freshly made, and very tasty, more like restaurant food. It has a very pretty beer garden and even its own car park. All in all we enjoyed immensely and will be back!
