Old Boots left this review about The Stansfield Arms

Old stone built pub at right angles to the main road close to Apperley Bridge station and with bus stops outside. Roughly dividing into three sections with the counter in the middle section, each end is laid out for dining. The bar area has flag and board floors and is furnished in a mix of styles, high, middling and armchairs by the fireplace. One end is stone walled while the other is part panelled and high ceilinged decorated in baronial style. I believe there’s a mezzanine floor above the bar area but didn’t check. Solo, double and treble keg taps, draught cocktails and three pulls provide the refreshments, cask beers from Black Sheep, Taylors and Ossett, my Black Sheep was either not long for this world or the pipes were insufficiently pulled through, I suspect the former.

A very attractive and inviting looking pub, on our way into town from the nearby Apperley railway station. This good sized pub, had three main areas, a central lounge and bar, a right hand side lounge area and a left hand side dining area, with an oak timber frame vaulted ceiling. The décor throughout the pub was traditional, with exposed ceiling beams and flagstone flooring in parts. Three handpumps serving TT Landlord, Leeds Pale and Black Sheep. We took our beers into the quieter right hand side lounge, as the pub was busy with people dining on our Friday lunchtime visit.

Historic 16th Century pub close by to the river Aire and was very busy on my Tuesday afternoon visit with around 30 customers sat outside enjoying the rare February warmth. The interior was very smart and consisted mainly of the foodie brigade and i thought the only aspect that let it down was the absence of any cask beer.
