I didn't mind this place. Real ale was available when I was in and the place was friendly enough. Not that there were many in on my afternoon visit.

Yes sadly no hand pull nice pub looks as if it trades well all ways a good few in will call in regular when we move there.
Landlord nice and friendly told he once played for Manchester city

The sign outside says "cask conditioned ales", but the word "no" needs to be added in the appropriate place. There are three hand pumps on the bar, but on our recent visit these were free of any pump clips, turned around or otherwise, and no real ale was to be had here.

The Howard Arms is a large decent looking stone built pub that is in the middle of Glossop.
Once inside i went into a large smart and comfortable room that was fairly quiet on my late afternoon visit.
This pub was a Bass tied house when i went in it and there were no real ales on the bar i had a drink of Keg Bass mild which was drinkable but nothing special.
I think this pub would cater for younger people in the evening.
