Bucking Fastard left this review about Miller & Carter

Miller & Carter chain have spent a lot of money updating this former church into a steakhouse. There is a lecturn on entering but when I asked if I could come in just for a drink ,I was directed to the right where a couple of women were doing much the same. It's all quite hip with a lot of high tables and chairs along with red leather benches and had the vibe of a cocktail bar rather than pub. There are 4 mainstream keg options, and an indifferent Camden Pale set me back £2.55 the half.Cocktails generally £7.50 and the drinks menu lists other spirits ,wines and some bottled beer which may have been a better option. No doubt when the double decker restaurant is busy punters will wait at the bar,but it just isn't the kind of place I would base myself for a nights drinking. It may appeal to the less fussy.

This is an O'Neils that is housed a a nice looking church.
Once inside there is a square shaped room which is bare boarded, the bar is to the rear, there is also an upstairs seating area which is on three sides of the room.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep Golden Sheep which was a nice drink, the other beers noted were Old Dairy Cow Shed and Sharps Atlantic.
Food was being served and decent background music playing.
I quite took to this pub,one i could well stay in for a few if not on a pub crawl.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about O'Neill's

Converted church, with a large seating area in the former knave and a sizeable bar at the far end. Small stage beside the front door for the regular live music advertised. Raised seating area to the right, and a pool table in the far corner. Further seating / dining areas at balcony level with a number of sports TV screens. Faux Irish decor but at least background music was authentic (and at a sensible volume for a Sunday lunchtime). Four handpumps on the counter, offering Greene King IPA, Black Sheep, Pride and Wainwright (£3.55), but the pump clips on the bar back suggest some more imaginative choices may be available at other times. Overall, you might imagine that Wetherspoon would probably have made more of the impressive interior, but this is still the one O'Neill's that is probably worth making a bit of an effort to visit.

I sometimes pop in here for a few Pints on the way home as its just around the corner from my house. First thing I noticed its been repainted & decorated since the last time I went in here. I seem to remember this was the Temperance Hall when I was young nice Building inside. I find this Pub is not bad during the day time Or Early evenings During the week especially for a meal and drink as its cheap. But I would always Avoid weekends when there is Sport or Music on as it gets full & very noisy. Prices are very cheap For food & Beer in comparison to most other local places on the Broadway. Only Ales on were London Pride or Doombar sometimes there is also a guest Ale on which was the case the last few times I've visited.

I think that most people know the O’Niells set up and this place is no different when it comes to the drinks and cheap food, but the converted church location is worth a look. The floor area is huge and there is seating up in the gallery areas along with another bar that always seems to be closed when I pop in. During the day this place is very quiet and on a weeknight when there is a football match on it gets a little busier, but when a London derby or international rugby game is on it gets packed due to the plasma and projector screens found throughout. At the weekend there is a late license and music so it is usually heaving with young boys and girls on the pull and I’ve always found the atmosphere to be friendly enough, which is probably due to the door staff keeping the trouble makers away.

I wouldn’t plan to go here for a night out, but it is the sort of place one ends up visiting on the spur of the moment.
