Visited yesterday to find ten hand pulls at the bar, split across two banks of five. Guest ales are £1.99 a pint, making it very cheap even for a Spoons.

There is a small beer garden to the rear and a reasonable selection of guest ales to choose from.

Perfectly adequate.

This place gets the name from the original shop once having been a watchmaker and later a jewellery shop that also sold timepieces. It's a smallish JDW that is relieved somewhat by having an upstairs area. There is an unusual curved ceiling in the lower part. I noticed that the breakfasts here are only £2.79 and the standard guest price is also cheap at £2.05. There was a daytime brigade contingent on my afternoon visit.
The ten hand pumps had a fairly limited choice with two unused, Abbot doubled up, two ciders, Ruddles, Daleside Lemongrass Thai PA, Saltaire Kardinal and Moorhouse Blond Witch. I went for the Kardinal (£2.20) which was only in reasonable condition.
I thought this was a pretty average Spoons.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Time Piece (JD Wetherspoon)

Standard 'spoons interior in a slightly cramped layout with a small and unobvious mezzanine along the frontage that I only discovered at the end of my brief visit. Raised patio terrace to the rear. Good selection from ten handpumps, with three from Rudgate including Ale Storm (£1.90).

The Time Piece is a Wetherspoons pub that is situated in the middle of Dewsbury, which seems to be very thin on the ground for pubs.
Once inside i had a drink in the ground level room, this room was smallish for a Spoons,it is oblong shaped with the bar on the right side, there are normal tables and chairs to the front and a raised area to the left, the bar area had a mix of tall tables and chairs and normal ones.
There are 10 pumps on the bar,i had a drink of Acorn Winter pale Ale which went down well, the other beers i noted were Acorn Gorklova,Caledonian Great Scot,Hobgoblin and the Spoons usual beers,Abbot and Ruddles best.
The pub was very busy on my morning visit which is no surprise with Dewsbury having a shortage of pubs in its town centre.

A two level JDW, with a decent selection of four guest ales; my Abbot Reserve good. The attractive exterior gives way to an interior which is smaller and slightly better than the average Spoons, in a decent state of repair. Layout-wise, there’s a bar to right, a raised area with some snugs to left, a terraced drinking area at rear and a small amount of extra seats upstairs which hold a nice view of the street. Service was good.

I thought this was better than the standard Wetherspoons offering and would say it’s worth dropping by if you are exploring Dewsbury beyond the WRLRR.

Despite being housed over 2 floors, this is a fairly small and quite typical Wetherspoons in what was previously a jewellers and before that, a watchmakers, hence the pub name.

The main downstairs bar is a bit ‘Spoons by numbers and feels quite cramped with seating at a premium despite my visit being during what I would consider to have been a quiet early evening period. An open staircase leads up to a small strip of additional seating along the width of the pub’s frontage. Note also the cleverly designed space saving drinking ledge at the foot of the stairs, far more practical than the rather inaccessible bookcases and drawers that you pass on the way up! The pub frontage has fully opening continental style doors although it opens up onto a main road and there is a small enclosed garden at the rear.

Of the 10 pumps, 5 were the standard ‘Spoons offerings whilst 3 were guests (+2 “available soons”).and whilst I didn’t note the names, they appeared to be mainly showcase local ales.

It’s certainly not a bad Wetherspoons and the barman was friendly and chatty but it does suffer from having a bit of a seen one, seen all feel to it.
