Will Larter left this review about The Crafty Two

A modern two-room corner bar in an interesting building with a Dutch gable and other features I am unable to put a name to. Painted white on the outside, but with the interior a blue-grey colour. Despite the name there is no craft beer available, unless we are counting Beavertown Neck Oil, Tiny Rebel Tropical or Theakstons XB. The first two were on the keg taps, of course (10 of them on the bar back, including Guinness, two ciders and two lagers), while the latter was in a new guise as Theakstons Ruby Ale. This was the only beer among four naked hand pumps; a hand-written label was propped up against it, otherwise I wouldn't have known it was on. It was in ok condition (NBSS 2.5) but barely worth crossing the road for; 30 years ago it would have been one of my favourite beers. Loud music was playing at three o'clock in the afternoon, as if I needed any further encouragement to drink up and leave. No doubt Crafty Two will have its fans, and I give it 5/10 not because there's very much wrong with it - more that it's not my sort of place.

A new place that still smells of refurb, upgraded from what sounds like one of town’s roughest boozers. The name and exterior signage promised much but it doesn't really deliver, two cask in Brains Rev James and Tim Taylor Landlord (NBSS 3) with the only faintly craft kegs being Beavertown and Lagunitas, both macro owned. The inside is probably the closest Tamworth gets to hipster; stripped wood, some retro furniture which is either new or heavily reconditioned and the large windows give the place a light and airy feel. Friendly barmaid was a bonus. It's fair crawl fodder.

It wasn't rough but then again it has been 8 years since the last review. It is, however, crap. And with a Wethers across the road I think whoever is running it has decided what's the point?

One of roughest pub in Tamworth, frequented by hardened drinkers and young chavs. Right opposite Main bus station. Free pool games every wed. Happy hours available. Huge barn next to pub for smokers. Decors inside are very plain. No real ale served
