Steve C left this review about The Plough

This pub has a central bar and apart from a screened off area in the front left hand corner it is open plan. I think that it has been refurbished fairly recently as it has a fresh feel with wooden flooring and the fitted wall seats look to have been reupholstered. The lead lined coloured glass windows have been retained and although I imagine that this place is now a far cry from its original local boozer feel I still found it to be quite comfortable. There are plasma screens throughout the pub and all football is shown via Sky Sports. There are two dartboards which are used on Thursday nights for the killer dart competition and there is also a pool table which comes in handy on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for the killer pool. There is a jukebox which was playing in the background, but I imagine this is turned off on Friday and Saturday nights when there is a DJ/live entertainment and a late license. Looking at the pub facilities and the few people in during my quiet Sunday afternoon visit I would probably avoid this place at busier times when the Stella and alco-pops start flowing, but for a place to watch the sport it is perfectly acceptable.

There’s only a standard draught range here, but the woman behind the bar was friendly enough and the Guinness was very good.

If I lived locally I would use this pub to watch the football, but would probably avoid at other times.
