E TA left this review about The Langton Arms

This pleasant country pub burned down in 2004 and reopened having been renovated and having a restaurant added on. The setting is very rural, next to the village church and can be reached either through a ford or along narrow lanes from the golf course end. It is partly quaint, partly modern, completely welcoming. The owners use meat from their own farm and butchery in the restaurant and bar food. Meals are cooked to order and have an element of originality about them which complements the quality of the ingredients. The floors are a mix of tiles, the restaurant is under a conservatory roof, there is a drinkers' bar at the front and a small lounge with sofas and comfy chairs. Two ales on, Flacks's Double Drop and Devon Coast, both in superb condition. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Well worth finding for a fine meal or an evening's libation.

Antony Wells left this review about The Langton Arms

Good-sized, somewhat remote, gastro-style pub with ample parking space and accomodation.
The food is the first attraction for most visitors to the Langton Arms but it's no slouch in the ale department. The web-site does not do justice to the real ale. The three or four pumps usually dispense well kept ale with a distictly West-country bias.
The food varies from bluidy good to top class but it ain't cheap. This is a place that prefers to sell fresh and freshly-cooked local produce and rarely do it's standards slip. That said, there are those who don't like the way it is presented or the price you have to pay for top-class fodder.
To them I say, stay away, the Langton doesn't need your ilk.
My rating 8, if I were somewhat better off and live close by it would be at least 9.
