Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Peacock
Picture postcard country pub with weatherboarded façade and peg-tile roof. Thoroughly refurbished inside with a mixture of traditional and modern features that won't be to everybody's taste. Partly opened out in the main bar and dining area, but with very low ceiling in places. Very welcome open fire in the winter, with an additional woodburning stove in the smaller side bar which leads to the attractive beer garden that is a fine spot to sit in warmer weather. As a Shepherd Neame house, Master Brew, Spitfire Gold (£4.30) and Bishops Finger were available from three of the four handpumps on this visit. Well worth a detour if visiting nearby Sissinghurst, Goudhurst or Cranbrook.
