Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Eagle & Child

The Eagle & Child is set in the centre of the small village of Bispham Green. I get the feeling that it was more of a dining pub than a drinkers' pub these days. But it still appears in the latest Good Beer Guide. Indeed, the CAMRA website specifies that the pub serves 8 real ales. However, on my Saturday evening visit, there were just 3, unless I somehow missed the others. The 3 on were Thwaite's Wainwright, Moorhouse's White Witch & Wily Fox Karma Citra. However, to give them their full credit, they did also have a real cider (Welsh Warrior), making them the only one of 10 pubs I visited in Lancashire to stock a cider.

Whilst I didn't venture far from the bar area, this did feel very much like a traditional village pub and I enjoyed the atmosphere in here.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Eagle & Child

ultra rustic village pub in the heart of the countryside between Ormskirk and Wigan. renowned for its eight real ales, this is somewhere the CAMRA men can bring the family for a nice country pub lunch. The beer is excellent and it’s a nice civilised place for a pint - if a little too civilised for me!
