A good solid pub, with a good atmosphere from the friendly locals. The most surprising part of my visit was the two professional poker tables set up in the front bar area. The two of them in use and busy, obviously for a bit of fun whilst having a few drinks, first time I've seen that set up. Three handpumps Wainwright Amber, Courage Directors and Thwaites IPA. I went for the IPA, which was described as an English India Pale Ale 4% on the pump clip. A really good session beer and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

a really lovely looking antique village pub, and almost as lovely inside. Has obviously been opened out but retains a convivial olde worlde atmosphere. Marstons have largely left it alone for now and their beer is very good in here (had a spot on pint of Sunbeam). It does accommodation too. This is a far better pub than any in the adjoining village of Parbold, which this pub is NOT in - ask anyone from Newburgh!

This historic inn is in the pleasant village of Newburgh. It’s an interesting old building with many traditional features.

Ample parking to side, level access. Clean, comfortable and well maintained. No Smoking restaurant. Varied menu. Ales include Burtonwood, Jennings and Marstons. Service is friendly and efficient. Good well cooked food. Curry night every Thursday.
