Blackthorn _ left this review about The Old Globe

A street corner pub in the heart of Bedminster’s pedestrianized shopping street, this has recently re-opened after a spell of closure although nothing seems to have changed internally, there’s certainly no sign that it’s had a spruce up or even a lick of paint. It was very quiet on a recent Thursday evening visit with only one other punter in there, so how long it’s going to remain open I’m not sure.

Internally it’s a single U-shape room wrapped around the central bar counter. There is some tatty old red carpet on the floor, and the lower part of the walls is painted in a complimentary maroon shade with rough white Artex higher up. A couple of feature walls were made to look like exposed stonework, but whatever it actually was it looked rather fake. A pool table and darts board were at the rear of the pub, along with a boarded up fire place. Some old net curtains hung rather limply in the windows. The whole pub had a very tired air about it.

Beers on tap were Butcombe and Tunnel Vision, whilst a further two pumps appeared unused. Ciders were Symonds Founders Reserve and Strongbow Cloudy Apple.
