Bucking Fastard left this review about The Flag

A substantial Victorian building with a more modern extension which hosts live music on Friday's and Saturday's and an open mic on Thursday's.The balustraded terrace opposite the station has some picnik tables but is used as the smoking area, while to the side there must be a further 20 benches for exterior drinking. Inside there is a lowered ceiling which prevents a drinking barn atmosphere and there is vertical drinking in front of the long bar, sofas to one side and two raised sections with unimaginative furniture.Towards the back there are three pool tables and then the stage with standing infront. The food offering is at the value end of the market,2 meals for £5.50,meal and drink deals at £5 ,all very 'spoonesque.I would guess you might well get what you pay for,I resisted the temptation. However the drinks in general are not super value, although some cheap deals can be had.I lost count how many screen and monitors there were but all tuned to BBC News 24 and no sign of Sky Sports coverage. As you might expect musak is ever present.Three handpumps with London Pride,Youngs Christmas Gold Tale(with flashing light)and an unexceptional TT Landlord for £3.20.
If you get delayed or are waiting for an arrival at Watford Junction ,you could pop in for a quick one,but there was little reason for me to linger.

Large pub next to Watford Junction train station which has regular live music when it attracts the rock/goth crowd. At other times it’s fairly quiet. Horrible furniture arrangement with some pointless sofas positioned so that it’s difficult to get from the entrance to the bar at busy times. Started serving real ale this year and the regulars of TT Landlord and Marston’s EPAare usually in good nick. Pool table, quiz and games machines, couple of raised areas, TV’s but no Sky.
