This is not the most inspiring location for a pub being part of a modern shopping building at the West end of Hornchurch centre and stuck between a MacDonald’s and a betting shop.

The interior is equally uninspiring being a fairly typical shop conversion. At midday it was doing quite a brisk trade. There was a wide beer selection with none of the Available Soon options, however my hopes of finally nailing Thornbridge Jaipur IPA were dashed when I was told that the half turned clip was off. The Jenning’s Snecklifter at £2.25 was as good as I’ve ever had it.

This place is GBG listed and to be honest that probably says more about the rubbish opposition than anything else. I think that people who criticise CAMRA for putting so many Spoons into the GBG should pay a visit to the Romford area and see if they can discover anything better.
