Corner pub in Poshville that has inevitably succumbed to a strip-out though the curved bar and wood panelled/tiled restaurant wall with inlaid mirrors and tiling hint at better times. Otherwise it's a worn wooden floor, heavily chipped and grubby grey walls, a rear open kitchen and exposed duct piping. Four pumps but nothing on, a claimed delivery issue. I settled for a half of Krusovice which was the only keg of interest and at £2.45 perhaps about average for the area. Not somewhere I can see myself bothering with again.

Up until early 2011 this was the Skiddaw Hotel. The pub has a large u-shaped central bar attached to which is an open kitchen. I saw four real ales on tap as well as a selection of premium lagers. A large TV, mercifully off, was situated above the door.

Banquette seating is to the rear and featured are some fine examples of etched and stained glass, tilework and screens. However, they do clash somewhat with hideous exposed metal ductwork. The barmaid seemed to have serious trouble understanding English and the pub rarely has many patrons. The exposed kitchen didn't look appealing and there was an all-pervasive smell of cooking.

This place isn't a disaster but with the Warrington, Prince Albert and especially the Truscott just around the corner, there's no reason to visit.

The main bar appears quite bizarre – the steel poles holding the curtains looks like scaffolding. And the purple ceiling doesn't help. The saloon bar was much more impressive with plenty of original Victorian features, but the effect was largely ruined by the massive heat extractor trunking from the kitchen area behind the bar running across and around the ceiling.
They had a couple of real ales on – TT Landlord and OSH. The Landlord was OK. It's an “OK” pub, but I doubt whether I'll go out of my way to visit again.

Went in with high hopes as we saw 3 hand pumps. as all the pump clips were turned around we asked the barstaff if there was any real ale she just pointed to the fizz pumps (perhaps she could not speak english) totally disinterested. if you like very loud turkish music and staff that could not give a "monkey's" then you will be OK if not go to The grand Union 5 minutes walk up the road
