Blackthorn _ left this review about Eton

A large and fairly modern bar just off the centre, this has large glass windows around two sides giving good views outside although as is the case with many city centre bars, the choice of beer for the discerning drinker is distinctly lacking.

It’s on two different levels, with a couple of steps and some wood balustrade separating them. Paintwork is predominantly green in a mixture of dark and light shades, whilst there is a parquet wood floor. Around the corner at the back were a couple of pool tables as well as a large projector screen showing a football match, and this was supplemented by a few plasmas dotted around.

Although it was quiet when we visited, there were a number of large speakers around and some lighting kit, suggesting that it may on occasions be considerably livelier. A few potted plants softened the interior a little, and there were a number of up lighters on pillars as well as above the bar. At the back were several leather sofa’s to relax on.

Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, just Mansfield Smooth Creamy Ale, whatever that is. The solitary cider was Thatcher’s Gold.
