A cracking pub hidden away on the banks of the Mersey. Real ales available. The pub is a long left to right layout as you enter. An upstairs seating area is to your left. Lots of pictures of years gone by. Outside area overlooks the river and beyond. Cross over the canal and railway line at the end of Station Rd to get to the pub.

Always a great pint here. Generally from a choice of six. Three ubiquitous and three interesting.

Abbot Ale is spot on here!
Don't park outside via the Yacht club, you get shouted at!
The 20yd walk is no problem from the carpark as Debra pointed out unless there's a train coming!!

Think Duncans comments re walk a bit unfair. This place is unique and you nee to go there to see why.
Went for a bike rally on Sat 7.7. and the setting is superb. The beers were excellent but did not try any food. Lovely bunch of bikers and Andy and the staff were brill. Saw some great bands, Sticky Fingers and The Raynemakers among the best. Good old fashioned rock n blues. A great place and I'd deffo go back especially for this or any other rally.

Bit of a walk from the main car park, across the railway and over a canal, to find the pub in a pleasant setting next to the river.
Called in for the first time on a Friday for a quick lunch, the beer was nice but the food very ordinary.
