Steve C left this review about The Lord Nelson

The Lord Nelson is a large Holts tied pub with a tile floored entrance that leads to a three sided bar counter on the left wall that faces a carpeted seating area to the front and a wood floored area with high tables to the right. During a recent late midweek afternoon visit there were a few locals in the front seating area and in a long seating area at the rear. The screens located throughout were all off, except for one in the bar area that was airing muted snooker whilst some background music played, live football is advertised. The counter supports the usual Holts keg and three banks of three hands pumps, one on each side of the bar. Bitter and Mild were available from the friendly barmaid. The Mild was good, and 70p a half cheaper than the Barking Dog up the road. I liked it in here and would pop back in if passing.

A good old proper traditional pub. Multi areas (at least 5 that I saw) with a friendly feel all round. Holts beers on with Mild, Bitter, IPA and Two Hoots on on this visit. I liked it.

A classic Holts pub on the outskirts of Urmston centre. Massive, multi roomed with loads of glass panelling and windows with the pub name etched into them. Full of typical, back street, Holts pub clientele on my Friday teatime visit. Not a place to take your old granny, but there were a few females in the pub, all drinking pints. My pint of Holts Biter was in decent nick and was just over £2.

Holt's bitter sold here so it's cheap but good. A very down to earth pub. Don't drink the lager.
