Tucked away in a quiet corner of the town centre, this is a charming Fuller's boozer. The two etched glass entrance doors would have originally opened into a public bar and saloon, these days its one carpeted room with an elegantly curved island bar,but it retains a lot of features and some good wood panelling.Furniture is traditional and there is a charming mini banquette in one bay window.Towards the rear is a laid for service dining room, although the menu is pub grub at reasonable prices, and a £7 lunchtime specials deal.No food service between 2.30pm and 6pm ,although there are a variety of bar snacks.
There is a small patio at the front ,the road outside is quiet.
Two banks of handpumps offering London Pride (doubled),ESB,Hophead,Seafarers and a seasonal Fullers Hop Tropic (NBSS 3.5).The muzak was not too loud and the flatscreen above the fireplace will show football from all subcription sources but will be turned off otherwise,a good policy.Around the walls is a huge amount of rugby ephemira with a great display of signed rugby shirts in the restaurant.
Well worth a visit and not overrun by tourists ,so a genuine atmosphere and friendly service.I will be back.

A pretty solid Fuller's trad boozer, a U shaped room wrapped around a central servery, carpeted with various seating options throughout. Six handpumps dispensed a dedicated Fuller's Lineup of Pride (doubled up), ESB, Seafarers, Bengal Lancer and Oliver's Island. The menu was pretty substantial and reasonably priced, sub £10.00,the service was noticeably very good and courteous. I am not the greatest fan of Fullers beers but wouldn't be adverse to a return visit.

THE SUN: sounds like a newspaper, but this is actually a nice little rugby pub, 300 yards or so from the lovely Richmond Green. You can tell its a rugby pub by all the rugger memorabilia up on the walls, etc. At the front of the bar area there's a poster/picture of a close-up of a rugby players face+shoulders. The slogan says: "It's not the winning...but the taking apart!" :o) Fullers 'Traitors Gate' a rich ruby red ale (4.5 per cent) was on the pumps; plus London Pride (4.1) ; Seafarers Ale (3.8) ; Guinness; Chiswick bitter; and ESB. Not very busy mid-week at 6.00pm, I expected more people in there. Maybe it livens up at weekends..?!

Not changed much since the earlier reviews and still worth a visit. A very useful haven from the big joints on the main road (most of the time, although gets a bit full when there is rugby on). The pub is slightly frayed round the edges, but has friendly, efficient staff and a good pint.

This is a Fuller’s house with the usual ales on, though they did have a guest ale in Arkell’s James’ Real Ale. I had the Gale’s Seafarers, which was OK, but in my view expensive at £3.30 a pint for a 3.6% ale.

There is rugby memorabilia absolutely everywhere, including photographs on the ceiling for those who enjoy a neck-craning experience. But I’m not knocking this sort of over-the-top decor that covers every available inch of space – I quite like it actually. Here we have typical Fuller’s style furnishings – a few stools at the bar, iron-framed tables accompanied by chairs and banquette seating. The main part of the pub is wrapped around an island bar, and is carpeted. There is a big room at the back with a tiled floor and a conservatory style roof letting in a lot of light. I didn’t see a menu (I was in a bit early) but there was a small chalkboard on the bar advertising the likes of rolls (£3), pork pies and scotch eggs (£2.50) and the rarely seen pickled eggs (£1).

I quite like the feel of the pub and I would be happy to visit again, even though the ale prices are a bit excessive.

This is a decent Fullers pub that was serving up Pride, Chiswick, Discovery, ESB, Pipers Gold and Seafarers along with a limited standard selection of lager on my recent visit.

The pub is a reasonable size, but the back seemed to be set up for the next rugby game on Sky so the many people enjoying a nice few pints of ale were somewhat crammed into the front section of the pub.

If you're a fan of Fullers ales or you play rugby and enjoy rowing down the Thames at some speed this is a must visit pub.

Pleasant Fullers house convenient for the station but tucked away behind the main street. Central island bar with brass hand and foot rails, bar stools and a mix of booth seating and chairs and tables around three sides. A seperate conservatory/dining room to the rear. Clearly a rugby pub, memorabilia and paraphenalia associated with the oval ball are everywhere, even on the ceiling.
A traditional feel however with lots of brown stained wood. Benches and tables in the attractive small front garden area.
Pride, Chiswick, ESB, Discovery, Red Fox (autumn ale, 4.3%), and HSB ex Gale's all available at the time of this visit. Friendly and helpful guvnor behind the bar too.

The Sun Inn is a really nice pub in a nice area of Richmond.
Once inside the pub had an olde worlde feel to it and there was a lot of rugby shirts and memorabilia around the pub, this is a Fullers tied house abnd there were three of their beers on the bar i had a drink of Fullers Chiswick bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were London Pride and ESB.
There were a few picnic tables at the front.
I thought this was a really nice pub and would happily visit again.
