This was the obligatory breakfast stop on our Bath tour, well where else can you get a pint and breakfast at 10:15am? A typically large Wetherspoons, which is part of a modern complex housing an Odeon Cinema, Nando's, TGI Fridays etc. Remarkably busy so early, large breakfasts selling well, but that regular 'spoons atmosphere with a few locals already seemingly setting in for the day.
The Christmas tree was up already, and there was a fire lit in a round grate in the middle of the pub. Purple effect ceiling lighting, some booth seating, but mostly crowded lines of small tables throughout.
I noted four guest ales plus the usual 'spoons line up, and the morning hair of the dog Thwaites Ribble Rouser was fine.
Prompt and efficient service, not always the case in such establishments. Oh, and the breakfast was first rate.
