Pub has recently had a make-over and the old Fayre and Square branding now gone and is now trading as a Greene King house. The bar area is much refreshed and the dining room too which overlooks a pond at the back. A nice quiet place in what is a well built up area. Outside benches and seating replaced and generally smartened up. The food offering is not gourmet but good basic favourites which are nicely served and presented. Cannot speak for the beer offering but appeared to be a reasonable selection, I was driving so had soft drinks only. Wheelchair access from car park and I think the street.

Steve C left this review about Swiss Cottage

I wasn’t expecting much from the Swiss Cottage when I approached due to the large Fayre and Square banner on the front of the pub that advertises 2 meals for £10 all day every day. There was nobody taking advantage of the cheap food during my recent Saturday evening visit. Actually there were only four other customers in this large L shaped pub and they were all together in a group. Standard draught is available from the bar and the three hand pumps were drawing Doom Bar (x2) and Old Speckled Hen.
There was some low background music and I didn’t see any televisions, but there were some children’s toy machine affirming that this is a family pub. The rear of the pub backs onto a body of water, but it was dark during my visit so I couldn’t see exactly what was out there. I did spot a few sleeping swans at the foot of a slipway next to the pub and when I left I noted the large decked seating area to the left of the pub.

I’m not sure why anyone would go here for a beer other than for a lot of peace and quiet. I would consider popping back in during the day if I had the family in tow, but I wouldn’t go in just for a drink again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Swiss Cottage

Food orientated family pub. The 'L'-shaped bar is much more modern-looking than one might expect from the frontage, and this has been extended at the back where the dining area overlooks a substantial duck pond. Two of the three handpumps were in operation, offering Doom Bar and a serviceable pint of Tribute (£3.30).
