Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hydrant
Formerly the Fine Line, this barely branded Fuller's 'Craft House & Kitchen' has a large rectangular bar refurbished in a semi-modern style. There is a mix of seating in several different areas, including a separate dining area at one end of the bar as well as the mezzanine (which was roped off, as usual, on this visit). Oliver's Island, London Pride and Dark Star's Sunquake (£6.20) available from the two banks of three - very red, like much of the other decor - handpumps.

The Hydrant is a long thin modern Fuller’s bar with serving counter that runs the length of the rear wall. There is minimal seating in the bar area with more to the right of the bar and further seating upstairs. There was some background music playing, but it was hardly audible over the chatter of the office crowd who had packed the place out for an afterwork Wednesday pint. The bar supports a premium keg range alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Fullers Oliver’s Island and London Pride alongside Adnam’s Mosaic. The presence of many old pump clips on the wall behind the bar suggest a frequently changing guest ale.

This is a rather cool, expensive looking Fuller’s pub with a great location beneath the spectacular Monument to the Great Fire of London. The pub has a wide but surprisingly shallow interior, with two steps from the front entrance taking you down into the bare concrete floored main bar area. The servery is on the back wall and has a simple counter with pump clips lining the bar back and boards detailing cocktails, specials and the like dotted around. High tables fill the space opposite whilst banquette and chair seating is available in a marginally quieter space over to the right. With the inevitable post-work crush at the bar, someone had the great idea of putting a TV screen near the entrance which lists all the drinks options, including the wide keg and bottled beer selection. To the left of the bar there is a tidy seating area with stools, padded benches and plenty of chairs under some passable fake foliage, a colourful poster and some mixed light fittings including some made from old fire extinguishers, in reference to the pub’s name and perhaps to reassure us that another Great Fire is unlikely on Fullers’ watch. A further seating area to the right of the bar has bare brick (or is brick-tile?) walls with high stools and comfy benches, modern art prints and some good views out to the monument. Stairs lead up to a mezzanine level with plenty more seating, although this space was being used for a private function on my visit and seemed to have some live music going on, not that I could get a glimpse.
The ale range here was a little better than you might normally find in a Central London Fullers pub. Cask options comprised Fullers London Pride, Oliver’s Island and Day Dreamer, Adnams Mosaic and Cloudwater Green Cheek Dry Irish Stout. The latter was served to me by a friendly, if rather unintelligible, barman and was in fantastic condition – one of the better beers I’ve enjoyed in London this year. The complete range of Fullers beers appeared to be available in one format or another, according to the aforementioned TV screen.
I chanced upon this place having never really heard of it before and was very glad I decided to pop in to check it out. It seems like a nice, upscale venue with a contemporary feel that doesn’t lose that important pub essence. Only the Central London pricing and unavoidable post-work crowds would put me off repeated visits, but other than that, I thought this was a respectable addition to the Fullers estate.

Founded in 2015, this is a Fuller's outlet with a fine view out towards the Monument, the Christopher Wren/Robert Hooke-designed edifice that commemorates the Great Fire of London, 1666. The column is 202 feet in height, the distance from the start of the fire in Pudding Lane.
There are a few metal tables outside, thereafter the place resembles an office block which indeed is what it is, situated on the lower ground floor. This explains the slightly industrial interior with no décor, concrete floor high/low tables and stools/chairs and the usual selection of Fuller's ales. Because of the hard surfaces, acoustics are very poor. Factor in the loudish music which arrives as the evening wears on and conversation becomes increasingly more difficult. On the plus side, the air-conditioning was a welcome touch on this very hot and humid day.
Ales: typical Fuller's line-up, with London Pride OK - I didn't clock the price as we were buying rounds.
I'd come here again as there's little else around, but I'd prefer to make the extra effort and leave the City behind altogether.

Good modern Fullers pub with upstairs seating.Found it noisy.Usual range of Fullers beer but I tried keg Fullers- Montana red expensive cold and a bit dull.
