Old Boots left this review about The Mews

A long time since I’ve been in here, still a Market Town Tavern and it retains six hand pumps and three T-bars, spirits and cocktails are also available. Beers from local breweries and further afield, I had a mild from London Brewing which was a good beer if a little past peak condition. Mostly restaurant in feel and service, there was a queue at the counter which nonetheless didn’t stop the staff asking “who’s next?”. Cafe decor and furnishings in the long thin room, mainly tables and chairs but there’s some sofas tucked away. Cask Marque and previously GBG listed, one of the better places in a largely dreadful town for decent beer.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Mews

The Mews is a stone built pub that is set sideways onto the road.
Once inside there is a fairly large single room which runs the width of the pub,the floor is bare boarded and the bar is on the left side, the seating is bench type and normal tables and chairs.
There was a good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Oakells Bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Lees MPA,Titanic Plum Porter,Brass Castle Oatmeal Pale Ale,one from Anarchy brewery and Doom Bar.
Food was being served.
I found this pub to be too quiet for my liking.

Old Boots left this review about Muse Ale & Wine Bar

Market Town Tavern ownership is usually a sign of high quality and the Muse is no different, the layout is a bit different as there is a more formal dining room to the right and the house style of bar to the left. Nicely finished with broad floor boards, traditional furnishings at separate tables and the European enamel brewery signs we expect, there is also a huge grape juice themed stone fireplace and a cafe-bar atmosphere. The counter takes up one end wall, home to six handpumps serving a changing range of smaller brewery products alongside carefully chosen UK kegs and European speciality beers. Needless to say the ale quality is outstanding, the staff crisp and efficient, and the customers a mix of non-chavs.
