Old Boots left this review about The Obediah Brooke (JD Wetherspoon)

Medium sized Wetherspoons on the Main Street, a decent old building on the right side no doubt rescued from neglect by Timbo, the main building is modern tosh. A U shaped interior, the counter is ahead and slightly to the side, an odder set up with six pulls one side and five the other, usual keggy stuff in between. Lots of big clear windows and all the stuff you’ve come to expect in a 'spoons, a bit more recent in the older building so no big info boards, historic info is given more discreetly. It’s a very well run spoons. Toilets off the mezzanine seating area.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Obediah Brooke (JD Wetherspoon)

Attractive old building when viewed from the side, but the larger portion with the main entrance is a modern infill. Usual sort of arrangement inside, but there are some decent window tables, an additional quieter seating / dining area upstairs and some tables out on the pavement at the front. Eight cask beers from the two banks of six handpumps, including two from Acorn, Sauvin Smash from Goose Eye (£2.15), Tiger Cub from Kelham Island and Geeves Fully Laden so the choice was pretty good.

This is a smaller modern JDW. There's a small raised area to the left but the main room is roughly L shaped. The fixtures and fittings are fairly typical. The uninspiring surroundings are compensated for by a reasonable beer selection from the ten hand pumps with one available soon, the two GK beers, Rudgate Vanilla Mild & Florence, Little Critters Shire Horse & Chameleon Simcoe, Hobgoblin and two ciders.
I went for the Chameleon Simcoe (£2.19) which went down a treat with a breakfast.
This isn't a bad Spoons but there are several better ones in the county.

The Obediah Brooke is a Wetherspoons pub that is almost opposite Cleckheaton town hall.
Once inside there is a L shaped room, the bar is on the right side, the seating in the bar area is tall tables and chairs, the rear left area is raised, the seating here is normal tables and chairs.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Rudgate Aunty Carol which was quite a nice drink, the other beers i noted were Rudgate Chocolate Stout,Old Speckled Hen and GK IPA,there were more guest beers i failed to note.
This is a pleasant enough Spoons that was very busy on my mid Friday afternoon visit.

Not the largest pub in the Wetherspoons empire, but nevertheless it was clean and tidy with a good selection of cask beers on offer,of which the Toad Brewery's Golden Angel was certainly up for the challenge.
