Will Larter left this review about The Wateredge Inn

Now in the same ownership as the nearby and confusingly similarly named Waterhead Inn, this former pub has also been amalgamated with the former Regent Hotel across the road, which has been restyled Windermere Rooms. These changes prompted a massive refurbishment that coincided with one at the Waterhead. Now that it's reopened, I thought it was about time I called in for a beer. Having just come from the sister pub I spotted the same beer, Bowness Bay Fell Walker, on the bar here, so decided to do a comparison. Actually, it was more of a contrast, because whereas the previous beer was too warm and too lacklustre, this one was well poured ("just leave it there and I'll top it up when it's settled" said the friendly bar person), in very good condition and, for a bland modern pale, quite a pleasant drink (NBSS 3.5). Same beer, same price but worlds apart in care, skill and customer service. The surroundings are much the same - very smart, very expensive and in very poor taste, the trademark of the Inn Collection Group - but this is very much a decent pub experience. The decor is slightly more pub-like, the background music slightly less dire, the seats slightly more comfortable; it all adds up to "much better", as my notes made at the time record.

After a trip on Windermere we sat in the lakeside beer garden and had lunch. Just a sandwich and a couple of pints of Bluebird. Very pleasant.
