Updating 2010 review: The interior has been stripped back to bare walls, matchboarding or tile effect, with a few dark beams remaining round the bar but the remainder painted white. Visibly knocked through to provide one open area, with a side dining area. There are a vast number of tables in the garden aiming at diners, with a large covered area also. Draught ales were TEA, Ghost Ship, Doom Bar and London Pride, while the food is fairly straightforward pub fare and better priced than many in the area.

Nicely situated country pub with a decent beer garden on the edge of the Wey Navigation and would think this is a magnet for types of people involved in countryside pursuits such as boaters, bikers and ramblers. Inside the pub,one main long bar,set out for dining one end the middle and slightly sunken far end, more traditionally set for drinking, the floor is all stone and the wooden beams overhead are home to a good number of horse brasses as well as beer clips above the bar itself, upon which reside five pumps, all in operation dispensing Doombar, G.K.Abbot, London Pride and Adnams Southwold Bitter, These are regular beers, the guest ale on my visit was Fire Bird Paleface , 5.3% ABV and £4.00 a pint. The food menu displayed on a chalk board looked interesting and mostly priced between £10.00 to £20.00. A quiz is advertised as is a regular meet up of the Morgan car owners club.
Nice pub worth a stop off.

A nice canal side pub with plenty of outside seating if the weather is good. Inside it has lot of character. There is a selection of cask ales is available.the service was a little robotic the member of staff who served us just went through the motions. good food although we thought it to be a shade overpriced. It is certainly worth a visit.

The pub has a pleasant situation on the towpath of the River Wey Navigation and fully makes use of this point. An extensive garden area runs down to the path edge, this was teeming with mainly diners on the Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. The food did actually look pretty good even if Surrey prices are the order, it is certainly popular.
The pub itself is attractive, now one long continuous space, with the bar set at the back of the middle section, it is effectively divided into three areas. The low black and white beamed ceiling, brick fireplaces, horse brasses, copper artifacts, stone jugs, sherry casks, narrow boat paraphernalia, including gaily painted vessels, and numerous canal pictures give an old time rustic and comfortable feel. Carpeted throughout with standard seating, no fancy sofas or high benches. There is a large flatscreen Tv opposite the bar but this was off at the time.
Five to choose from on handpump, Ringwood Best Bitter, Pride, GK Abbot, Adnams Bitter and Cottage Iron Duke. The Iron Duke was fine (£3.20). There are a number of pump clips across the bar gantry, testimony to the guest policy, although I suspect the four standard beers may be regular with currently the Cottage "guesting".
In all not a bad little pub, albeit very busy as such places get on weekends and holidays, but certainly worthy of a stop if passing by on a walk or canal boat trip.

Comfortable suburban local, located next to the Wey Navigation. it has three interconnecting rooms, furnished in traditional half timber and horse brass style, and plenty of outdoor seating. Quite heavily aimed at food, of which there is a good range (and that sampled was nice), but also has a good selection of ales, including some rare guests, which seemed in good order. Occasional quizzes etc. Worth a visit.

Pub with warm atmosphere and nice to sit outside on a sunny day by the River Wey. Plenty of ales available.
