Moby Duck left this review about The Jolly Farmer

A traditional locals pub set in a residential backstreet. Well populated on a late Sunday afternoon, it consists of a single L shaped room, the floor is carpeted, the ceiling, white plaster and dark wooden beams, the walls heavily hung with framed old photos and various pictures. Five pumps on the bar, Doom Bar , Summer Lightening, Ringwood Fortyniner , St Austell Proper Job with a reversed Tribute clip on the last handle.
Very good. 7.5/10.

This was a jolly pub with a good atmosphere, I think the crowd were more mature than other pubs around the area, but it is tucked away from the town centre.

What a cracking little pub, rammed to the rafters on a sunday night, with nearly every one drinking ale. Friendly and well run.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Jolly Farmer

A fairly comfortable backstreet locals pub, with a reasonable range of beers, including Landlord and Old Peculier at time of visit. It has one L-shaped bar, with wood panelling, fake beams and lots of photos and other clutter. Garden at rear as well as some tables at the front. Food apparently available at times. Was owned by Hopback Brewery at one point, but no longer. Generally OK, without being exceptional, but probably safe for a good pint.
