This rather-splendid listed Victorian building lurking in the trees near the station has been refurbished as a 'boutique' hotel with an extensive range of eating areas on the ground floor. This include a couple of larger rooms and numerous smaller areas, variously tricked out in what might be termed designer historic style, with a slight modern twist. The overall effect is quite pleasant, and there are also extensive patios areas to the rear and tables to the front. Sadly it did not quite live up to expectations, with food being average but certainly not priced as such, and service being very slow and patchy. The final insult was the beer: two draught ales should have been Young's Ordinary (Original if you must) and St Austell Proper Job. The latter transpired to have run out, while the somewhat under-filled glasses of the Young's were doing a passable imitation of gravy before being declined, leaving Camden Hells lager as the best choice of the remaining fizz. Even allowing for Covid-19 reductions in the range, this is pretty poor management and it is scored accordingly. Shame, as it could be an excellent pub.

A large pub with lots of parking space, and convenient for Weybridge Station. Pleasantly decorated with small snug which give an intimate atmosphere despite its size. There is a variety of seating types, all very eclectic but nonetheless comfortable, while the varied collection of "arty" table tops gives it almost an avant guard air despite the collection of gaming machines near the bar, which are relatively unobtrusive. Apart form the main large bar, there is a smaller bar at the back, which has a log fire in Winter, an outside terrace and a dining room which also has a log fire. There is good food, if a little expensive, and 5 ales on, all Young's. I had Young's bitter, in very good condition and very refreshing and enjoyable. The staff were very pleasant, and the ambiance was quite homely. Well worth breaking your journey to come here for lunch however you are traveling.

An impressive edifice from the outside, in a secluded location set back from the car park alongside the station. The inside isn't too bad either with a new and modern look, although a bit dark on sunny days. It’s now being pushed towards being a bar/eatery than actual pub, a far cry from the student dive of the early 90’s which hosted a number of well-regarded bands. A Youngs pub, it was surprisingly lacking a little on the handpull front, but the Winter Warner I had was excellent, best of the season. Prices are on the steep side. Worth a visit if waiting for train.
