This felt like it was trying to cross an All Bar One with a carvery. The carefully arranged rows of wine bottles, each type in its own space in the shelving behind the bar, would probably delight someone with an advanced case of OCD, but they seemed to exemplify perfectly why I didn't like the place.
The 6X (@£3.30) now takes up only two pumps and there is Young's ordinary on another.

It’s not easy to spot the name of the pub on the outside, as any obvious signage is now covered with advertisements for the food, and particularly the carvery. Such an unattractive exterior can give a clue as to what the interior is like. As you enter, the carvery/dining area is on the left. The right hand side of the pub is the bar area, leading to a conservatory style drinking area at the back. The conservatory area didn’t look too bad, but the front bar area reminded me somewhat of a motorway service area restaurant. The walls are painted a neutral pastel shade, the floor is slate grey tiles, and there are a few round tables with chairs, and a couple of sofas. I found it quite cold and soulless. There were three handpumps – three clipped as Wadworth 6X, and the fourth as London Pride (at £3.20 a pint). I wouldn’t recommend it as a pub, but the carvery may be OK, but as I didn’t eat there I can’t comment on it.
