Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Poacher & Partridge

Now owned by the small Elite chain of upmarket dining pubs, describing itself as a 'Country Pub & Dining' establishment so you'll have a good idea what to expect (and this one fits the bill exactly - for better or worse, depending on your take on such places). The original building houses the bar and has a slightly raised seating area in a window bay and the compact Covey dining room at one end. However, the main restaurant is now housed in a large extension on one end, with a converted barn-like appearance and a fully glazed frontage. Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout. Three of four handpumps in operation, offering the regulars of Doom Bar, Landlord and Harvey's.
