Reopened 10th June 2022, after a lengthy period of closure and a spell as a pie and burger house.White painted in a prominant position in the village, this pub has been thoroughly refurbished. On my fleeting midday visit,I found an airy bar opening off a tidy patio area, with carpark and beer garden beyond. The restaurant does not open for a couple more months, and the Guv said that a few more rooms were yet to be completed.
On the beer front,I was met with a large array of keg fonts, together with two handpumps, offering Sharp's Doom Bar and Atlantic Pale. While not the world's most characterful beer, the latter was in great condition, the Guv pouring -off the first glass:nice touch. It's good to see this pub reopen, and I'm sure it will be an asset to this rather remote village.

Visited this pub a couple of times over Xmas...what a great spot. Goachers and Holly Daze beers on as well as several lagers and ciders....friendly locals and staff, an all round happy experience.

My Wife and I visited the Swan for lunch recently and got a very friendly welcome. The food was good value as they had a special offer of two meals for £10. I had the prime burger which was freshly made and excellent. We would certainly go back.

The Swan in Wittersham is somewhere I’ve been a few times, and despite the ale selection I hadn’t felt very comfortable there on my last few visits. Today was a great improvement on my last visit. With friendly locals, we kicked off with Rother Valley’s “Smild”, followed by Dark Star’s “American Pale Ale” with a wonderful plate of steak and kidney pudding with chips. Back to the Rother Valley brewery for pint number three – “Honey Fuzz”, and then to the Westerham brewery for “WGV” to enjoy with dessert. I’ve been dismissive of the Swan before, but the food and ale was good. And more importantly it’s lost that “Royston Vasey” vibe it had a couple of years ago.
It gets 8/10, and probably deserves 9/10

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Swan Inn

Has a bit of a stand-offish reputation, but the bar staff were friendly and efficient. Yes, there were a large group of locals at and around the main bar, but it was hardly like walking into whatever the Royston Vasey pub is called. There is also a more basic bar at the front if you want something a bit more old-fashioned. Anyway, an interesting selection of real beer - four from handpumps and another four straight from the cask (plus a good choice of cider) - mostly from local and/or small producers. My pint of Rother Valley Smild (a dark mild) was just right.
