Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Barley Mow Inn

Busy community local between Chester-le-Street and Birtley, retaining a separate public bar (with pool table, etc.) and lounge (more popular with the older clientele). Unfussy furniture and decor, but regular events advertised and food available. Side beer garden / children's play area, and also a basic rear patio under an awning. Three real ales available from the various handpumps on both counters, including the regular Boon Doggle, plus Deuchar's IPA and Robinson's Dizzy Blonde (£2.95) as guests (with the other regular - Ossett Silver King - temporarily off).
