Aqualung . left this review about The Barge Inn

Back in the early days of CAMRA this was a famous Essex Ind Coope pub but one I never managed to get to. It's a small ancient weatherboarded and listed building set near a river in an area that seems to be dominated by places selling antiques. Inside it's open plan but split into different areas where there was probably once rooms. Almost all the tables were set out for dining.
The bar has three hand pumps which had GK IPA & Abbot and Crouch Vale Brewers Gold. I went for the Brewers Gold which was an extortionate £4.10 but was in reasonable nick. I sat at one of the dining tables and wasn't moved on.
It seems a shame that an old pub like this is now little more than a restaurant. I can't say that I would return.
