A very basic and scruffy alehouse bar at ground level with an ill-advised yellow paint job and very little natural light. Downstairs is a dark and dingy student dive bar. Two cask over three pumps both from Mor - Tea Vicar (NBSS 3) and Calm & Wise (NBSS 2). Noted a good selection of Belgian and German brews in the fridge and the food looked like value. Very much an evening venue and the atmosphere was decidedly flat on my mid-afternoon visit. GBG’24 listed.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place. Once we'd found the entrance door to the ground floor bar, we found a fairly typical urban Scottish bar found in many towns and cities across the country.

There was very little natural light, despite it being on the ground floor. But staff were welcoming and there were a couple of real ales available - Kelburn Red Smiddy & Mor Green Lady. I was surprised that they allowed children in to this kind of place. But they did and my son particularly enjoyed a healthy slice of red velvet cake.

In addition to the ground floor bar, there is also a cellar bar, which was closed on our visit. Toilets are also underground.

I did enjoy my visit here and would gladly return, if I'm ever back in St Andrews.
