The Wynnstay Arms reopens today (11/04/18) after a major refit.
'
Now very food oriented with most tables set up for dining.
As for the beer, they seem to have copied Wetherspoons policy but with worse consequences. Often seem to only have one Robinsons changing beer available with the other three clipped pumps marked as "Coming Soon"!

Graham Coombs left this review about Wynnstay Arms Hotel

Well-run, tidy old hotel with a large and comfortable lounge to the front, and a livelier large bar to the rear. Across the lobby is a snug library and restaurant area, while there is a big function room at the back. Beers only from Robinsons but a very good selection from the range and Cask Marque listed. Food seemed competent. All in all, a useful establishment.

A large ivy-clad hotel. There are two bars in here with the main lounge area being a smallish comfortable room with the servery dispensing a couple of real ales on my visits. The other bar room has a pool table and dartboard plus TV screens for sport. Outside at the rear is a car park and beer garden beyond that. There are 3 handpumps and all were Robinson's beers. Ruabon has 4 pubs by the station and they are pleasant places to have a drink.

A large imposing (if slightly grim looking) hotel. It has two comfortable bars offering Real Ales from the Robinsons range. Bar food is available all day plus there is a separate restaurant. Accommodation available in nine En Suite bedrooms. Only 100 yards from "The Bridge End (2011 Pub of the Year)", making The Wynnstay an ideal addition for visitors to the area.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Wynnstay Arms Hotel

Interesting historic coaching inn still offering reasonably-priced accommodation and food. Two busy bars, but just Robinson's Unicorn on as a real ale (although thankfully that's a decent pint).
