(2013 review)
This main road suburban pub has an L-shaped bar serving a large open plan area, but with several different drinking areas. On this Saturday afternoon, it was heavily used by football fans watching a few large screen TV's. Real Ale is served from one handpump (Tetleys Blooming Ale on my visit). It was on good form considering it was far from the most popular drink of the house.

(2019) Reopened under new management. Real Ale is now Doom Bar.

November 2012 - Party of 16 Pre-booked. The second time our walking group has eaten here after a walk but a first for me. They reserved the back room for us and it was nice and warm after a cold and wet walk. The entrance for the Gents was also off the room and so we did not totally have it to ourselves but it was snug, warm and close to the kitchen. We had pre-ordered the main meals and they came quite quickly after arrival. The food was fresh, well cooked and nicely presented. Main meals range in price from £6 to £10 and deserts are all about £3. I felt the food was extremely good value for money and the portions were on the large side. Deserts were exquisite and very reasonably priced.
I appreciate we were a large party buy they were prepared and handled it well. Also the drinks were reasonably priced, not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive.
If your in the area I would heartedly recommend a nite to eat here.
