The Cross Foxes was chaos when I popped in on a recent midweek evening. Nobody was working behind the bar and there were pissed up off duty staff making a nuisance of themselves. The bar counter on the left wall supports standard and premium keg. Seating runs down the right wall and across the rear. Televisions are found throughout for airing live football. The pub was actually comfortable, but he service was terrible so I’ll not be returning.

A fairly basic pub. Its clean enough and seems to do a job for the locals. As its a Last Orders rebrand you should know what to expect. There is, however, no real ale so for those who insist on handpumps only this isn't the place for you. Its not great but for an afternoon bevvy it isn't the worst.

The Cross Foxes was one of the "Last Orders" chain. It is now under new management and has reverted back to it's old name. The pub has been refurbished to a high standard with rich looking carpet. Unfortunately, Real Ale was not part of the new image. It's popularity is helped by the cheap bar prices

This pub has very cheap beer, shows all the major sporting events on numerous TV's dotted around the pub and has a very well designed outside drinking area.
My gripe is that they were advertising the world cup to bring in custom, where upon what I presume was the manager (short, stocky, tatooed, with bald head) turned off the "British" national anthym as the teams lined up for the first England v. USA match and proceeded to shout "come on you celts" and "XXXK off the English". At this point I decided that following England at the Last Orders Pub was completely untenable whilst this xenophobic celt was in charge of proceedings. I have therefore been watching the World Cup matches at
the wetherspoon pub that allows even Englishmen resident in Wales to watch their national team (even when the football is painful) in a friendly and non threatening atmosphere.
Whilst Last Orders has the potential to be an excellent pub the present staff have the customer service skills of a wounded rattle snake and will just drive normal customers away. It would be interesting to see their figures during the World Cup as there were few people there for matches compared to the numbers watching , yes even the England matches in Wetherspoon.
My advise to the owners is that the £1.69 a pint is great but it is the staff you need to change.
My rating is -10
