I was here when driving back from meeting my daughter and her husband who were house hunting in the area. I arrived not long after opening and was the only customer. (Opening four weekdays in the late afternoon, weekends at 2pm unless there's football or rugby on TV earlier.) The young man running the pub was very engaging and enthusiastic - he moved here from the south of England with his wife, who is local - though he was fairly new to the pub trade and real ale in particular. We had quite a chat while I was drinking my pint of Facers This Splendid Ale 4.3% from Fflint (he's very keen on this brewery, and the beer is not misnamed - NBSS 3.5). The other beer was from Big Hand in Wrecsam. I hope he continues to make a go of this pub.

Re-opened in March 2019 after refurbishment. A village local which retains its traditional 2-roomed interior with games room. 2 real ales from Big Hand.
Opening times 4-11 (Mon-Thurs), 3-11 (Fri), 2-12 (Sat), 2-11 (Sun).
Open earlier Sat/Sun lunch if football on TV
