I always seem to have to ask for my drink to be topped up in here. Not my favourite place in Llangollen but acceptable. Just. A hotel bar which is very average. It does however have a decent balcony area at the rear that overlooks the River Dee. That is probably the only reason to drink here. No real ale.

The Royal Hotel is one of Llangollen's famous landmarks. On the banks of the River Dee by the bridge it is the major site that most people associate with the town. The bars have more of a 'cocktail bar' feeling rather than a pub and do not serve Real Ale. Nice for a glass of wine after your meal but not part of your pub crawl!
"Room 29" is a more recently added bar with its own separate entrance. This is an 'evening' bar that attracts a much younger crowd with loud music playing. As expected there is no Real Ale here either.
