Colin Walker left this review about Livingston Inn

This inn / hotel was built in 1760 and is set in a conservation village giving a complete change from what Livingston has become with its factories and many houses. The old stables have been long converted into an open plan bar and lounge hotel area. An earlier reviewer mentioned that he used to frequent this place in the day, and so it was as Livingston was the silicon capital of Scotland and the local workers and myself frequented this inn for lunches and Xmas dinners regularly. There was once a famous resident called Robert Burns who stayed here and penned the song “The Bonnie Lass of Livingston after his stay in the Inn. There are 12 en suite bedrooms, a function suite and a private dining area for up to 50 people available. The inn is no far from one of Scotland’s largest shopping centres and is 20 minutes by train from Edinburgh city centre. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the pub.

Used to frequent this place very regularly back in the day. It is a good solid village boozer, with a decent food offering and great beer garden out the back. Worth a visit.
