Nothing much has changed since the 2011 visits below, the single room bar remains with its limited decor of nautical charts, a silent screen on Sky News and a ships wheel. The two counter set up; one for food, one for drinks, is something certain large chains might emulate. The beers are still from An Teallach and of surprisingly good quality. Near the ferry port so trade may be transient with tourists and ferry users whiling away the time before the delights of a crossing to Lewis.

A typical seaside bar, with its own fish and chip shop attached. There's a covered area with a view of the pier and harbour, and the main bar is a large wooden-floored room with bench seating around the walls, and high chairs around the two iron pillars which keep the ceiling up. There are two bars - one on the left as you enter, for food orders and tea or coffee, the other for alcohol and other drinks. There are notices scattered about the walls celebrating awards for best seafood bar from various critics and newspapers.
Surprisingly, there is a LocAle sticker in the window, and the promise is fulfilled by two hand pumps on the bar, one of which had An Teallach Ale available (the brewery is about 10 miles away as the crow flies, but the best part of 40 by road, but that's as local as you get in these parts). This would have been my most expensive pint ever (dead heat with the Argyll Hotel) except that I had a half: £1.85 - I've paid less than that for a pint this year!

A popular street corner pub opposite the terminal. Although not a virtual restaurant like many pubs, it is clear that food dominates with all tables being laid up with menus and cruet, even very low ones which personally I would not want to have eaten at. Signs outside advertised the various accolades that the pub has received, such as Seafood Pub of the Year.
Outside there’s a decent semi-covered seating area, with great views across the loch. Inside there are dual aspect windows to make the most of the outlook, reclaimed wooden flooring, a wood panelled bar and plenty of seating. There were two small TV’s mounted up in the corner and a larger plasma at one end – although the sound was off they were displaying subtitles so you could easily follow the Saturday night quiz show. I’m not entirely convinced by this seemingly Scottish obsession with watching TV in every pub. At the rear was a brick built fire place with a large wood burning stove.
The menu offered a good choice of pub grub dishes, with various sections such as jacket potatoes, burgers, etc. and a decent selection of tapas dishes as well as a Shellfish Platter (for two) at £75! A specials board listed a further eight fish dishes.
The only real ale on tap was An Tealloch Ale, although there was keg stuff from Tennants and Belhaven. The solitary cider was Strongbow, unfortunately. There were however getting on for a hundred different whiskies, if that’s your thing.

Good place to stop for snacks and bar meals throughout the day and evening. SFI Seafood Bar of the Year 2007, Publican Seafood Bar and Bar of the Year 2006. Regular music but erring towards traditional more these days. Great location for sitting watching the harbour and fishing boats landing.

Good bar with live music most night's,Seen some good acts. Very much a tourist's haven,and very busy with food.Nice place..Well worth a visit.
