The Bee was pretty much unchanged since I last visited it, except for a slight price increase. Being a Saturday night, it was much busier than before and there was a singer performing.

Like some others in the city centre, this oddly named pub is much bigger inside than it appears from outside. It is a single roomed, high ceilinged bar, traditional in style and simply furnished. Although it is what would once have been regarded as a “working man’s bar,” the clientele was mixed in terms of both sex and age on the Sunday afternoon of my visit. Memorabilia of the local football team, Saint Johnstone, among other things, decorates the walls. Guinness was priced at £3.20 a pint and Tennent’s lager, Belhaven Best and Magners cider are also on draught. Although it’s pretty basic, the Bee has a certain old fashioned charm to it and is worth a visit. Beware of toilets designated “Warlocks” and “Witches,” which might cause some confusion after a few drinks.
