A single square room at the back was the only one open due to COVID, bland modern room with tartan carpet, plain white walls and a couple of screens, mostly furnished with tables and chairs it has some bench seating and some tall stools. Two pulls but only Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted on, usual Scottish keg range plus curry house favourite Kingfisher.

From outside, this looks like a quaint, traditional pub. Inside, however, it has been modernized and is now a typical 21st century lounge/diner with more customers eating than drinking. It was on the expensive side, with Guinness selling at £3.50 a pint. Tennent's lager, Belhaven Best and Strongbow cider were also on draught.

We visited The Crown a month ago on our return from touring Scotland in our motorhome. The barman made us very welcome during the evening and we enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing evening there. We spent the night in the town in our motorhome and woke the next morning to find a pint of milk and newspaper on our door - it could only have been left by the barman, it was a very thoughful gesture and was most appreciated. He puts faith back in human nature and kindness - nowadays a very rare occurrence. We would like to say The Crown has a very cherished member of staff there!

visited this pub at the weekend and what change from the drab exterior and dreary decor inside. It has had a paint job with new signs outside and the interior has been decorated with new fixed seating, tables and chairs. Two big HD tv's at each end of the bar showing different sports channels. I addition to the now well stocked bar - (a good variety of malt whisky's) They had several special offers on bottled beers. I counted eight taps serving the usual favourites Tennents, Bellhaven Best etc. They are also now serving homecooked pub food all day, which was plentyfull and tasty - U you must try the haggis neeps and tatties! Karaoke/ party nights on Fridays and Saturdays ,Live entertainment every Sunday evening. Well worth visiting!
